2010 'Dance Your Ph.D.' Winner

Maureen McKeague, a chemistry Ph.D. student at Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada), beat 45 brave submissions to win the 2010 'Dance Your Ph.D.' contest. McKeague's dance is an interpretation of her research on a technique called SELEX--systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment--which generates short DNA and RNA segments designed to stick to a target molecule. In this case, the molecule is homocysteinean amino acid found in the blood.
